@Against Tobacco program held its annual Spring Conference in Charleston West Virginia on April 9 – 10 at the Charleston Civic Center. A total of 69 students from 14 state colleges and universities attended the conference. This years speakers, representing the BACCHUS Network, were Julie M Weissbuch , Director of Colorado Tobacco Prevention & Control Initiatives and Tad Spencer, M.A., T.A.S Associate Director of Health Promotions. They provided information and training on how the local @organizations can build a task force on working towards becoming a tobacco free campus.
The @ Against Tobacco Program was formed in 2005 as an avenue for college students to fight against Big Tobacco’s lies and is funded by WVDHHR Division of Tobacco Prevention Clean Indoor Air Program.
